Measuring Guide
Ready to have pallets of home grown sod delivered to your door? We have some tips for ensuring an accurate order. For more complex yards, it’s best to draw the area and break it down into sections for measurement. Then total the areas measured in square feet and add an extra 5% to account for wastage.
Area of a rectangle:
Base x Height
Ex: ‘B’ase is 10’ and ‘H’eight is 10’
10’ x 10’ = 100 sq. ft.
Area of a circle:
Radius² x 3.14
Ex: ‘R’adius is 10’
100’ x 3.14 = 314 sq. ft.
Area of a triangle:
Base x Height ÷ 2
Ex: ‘B’ase is 10’ and ‘H’eight is 10’
10’ x 10’ ÷ 2 = 50 sq. ft.
